Before my lover died she said she would wait for me That was fifty-years ago Now I have forgotten where we will meet

I looked at my creative work from 40 & 50 years ago
How I seemed more insightful than now
Funnier
Wittier
Riskier
Colourfully not-concise
The artistic spark
that became muddled
subdued
replaceable
crumbled
Lays on shelves
Locked in drawers
Landfill
Perhaps later in my 70s
I will recapture the magic of my 20s & 30s
And surprise myself
or not
