Orphan is the memoir of Dr Terrell Neuage — adopted in 1950, reunited with his biological families decades later, and now tracing the long arc of identity, origin, and belonging at age seventy‑nine. (the real story of the Neuage name)
The Orphan Project will include a piece on "how tofu could have saved my orphan self (it didn't)"
I was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, in the late summer of 1947, and for most of my life the story of my beginning "was something I carried like a sealed envelope"...not really AI wrote that line - but I did spend from my teen years looking for my birth family. (issue #1. On my original birth certificate my mother's name was spelt 'Billinger' and not until 1981 did I see the spellilng "Bellinger" when I started researching via that name and found & made contact with my sister (1987) & first met her in person 1992 & my brother from the Bellinger side in 2002 Then from my father's side, Miller, I first heard of a brother December 2025 while on a cruise through the Suez Canal, and first met him in April, 2026, when I was 78 years old. That is the first part of this tale.
The past doesn’t chase; it waits. In 2026, something in me began to stir — subtle at first, then insistent. It said: go back. Look again... Really a bit of a shit opening that AI came up with - but somewhat on the money...lets continue
I had left astrology decades ago, but when I asked an AI to read the sky for me, it answered with a pattern I recognized immediately...https://neuage.org/orphan/astro Well this is quite accurate - After 40 years as an astrologer in 2003 I quite it...
This project is not a memoir of closure, but a reconstruction — a return to the beginning so I can finally move forward without the weight of an unfinished past... Another stupid AI quote - but yes I suppose it is a year of reconstruction as I met my father's side family for the first time a few months ago (April 2026) at my age of 78 - and I had met my mother's side in 1992 & 2002.. BTW I do not have "the weight of an unfinished past..." Another pompous AI line. Obvioiusly, I am and have been a well adjusted human forever.
lots of photos some of which will be in orphan & some from Leaving Australia & others that are private (or until someone else looks at them) this is as of today 13/08/2026 - tomorrow I will add heaps more
