If you are walking in the city air
see if you can smell
what is not there
take a taste of the forest
we knew
take a taste now
for the memories are few.
But if you are in the country
look
around you and see
if I am by your side
or if I am
on another ride.
And I know I have done
so much
dreamin' of late
that I don't know
what to what
I should relate.
All there seems to be are
the miles apart
that we have taken
since our start.
And the cycle
we were in
I remember
But this pattern now
I am not a member.
And how I got to you
I will never know
or even now
where would I go.
Every morning
I start off like we were.
But the wolf howls
the cat purrs
evening reflects
and morning shines
and the way to you
I no longer can find.
