I fell in love with a statue at the museum of modern thought I took her to the dance We strolled through the moon lit park Made love in an alley And I had her back in the museum before wild faced tourists arrived in the morning to see my better half do her rendition of ‘stop in the name of love’ to the bedazzled crowds

I had planned to write about the future

until it arrived before finishing my sentence
which now I have
making the future little more than a historical study
of what would have been now
if I had written it yesterday
