Quiet week in Adelaide. Narda is preparing courses
for AlbanyAcademy
and getting staff lined up to teach various bits and pieces and I am doing the
same. The two chairs that we are, I suppose we are folding up chairs as we do
our chair exercises from Australia
for our jobs in Albany.
Narda music and me computer technology. I have totally
changed the computer department for this year and two staff I had are now gone
with me taking their places with new courses. I even changed the name of the
overall courses from ‘Essential Technology’ to ‘Computer Concepts’.
Instead of courses on Microsoft products we will be having courses on
three-D animation (Rhino 3D), hypertextual writing
(Eastgate.com) and lots of Macromedia and Ulead
products. I will also begin to introduce Nanotechnology as Albany
has the first nanotechnology college in the world (at State University of New
York – Albany,
where I am still teaching one course – ‘public speaking’). Nanotechnology is my
latest research:
Current
research:
1. GRIN’s technologies: [Genetics, Robotics,
Artificial Intelligence, and Nanotechnology (Joel Garreau)]
impact on communicational evolutions; how will we translate meaning from
sender to receiver if the ‘decoder’ is inserted in the minds of but a
fraction of society? An extension to my PhD thesis: ‘Conversational Analysis
of Chatroom “talk”’
2. Philosophical clashes between longevity (the race to extend life cycles
without end) ~ reincarnation and traditional Christianity.
This is our last week of our long holiday – from June 16th.
After my doctorial graduation next Monday on the 6th we leave Adelaide at 6.35 pm five minutes after Sacha boards his
flight back to Melbourne.
We will stay overnight at the Novotel across from Olympic Stadium, Leigh’s last
night residence. I was going through some of his papers yesterday and found an
envelope with all his details of when he was leaving Florida
to fly to Sydney
to see Veronica. He arrived in Sydney
at 6.30 am on Friday and with the grief of his losing his girl friend, jetlag
and all the rest he made a bad decision and twenty-fours later was dead. I have
his return ticket as well as his baseball glove and the video tape of him
pitching he had been watching whilst on the flight to Sydney. From all I have put together he had
intended to try and win back Veronica and then to return to the Dodgers and
play out the last couple of weeks of the 2003 season. Of course he would have
been disciplined by the Dodgers for leaving without telling anyone. I have not
watched Major League Baseball since – I have no idea what is going on after so
many decades of being a fan (of several teams) though I saw on the news that Boston won last year. I
always had thought I would be attending Leigh’s games and when I went to see
Leigh in April 2003 I went to a Yankees game in New York and I could feel the
excitement Leigh would feel when one day he would be pitching in that stadium.
I am continuing Leigh’s life though – doing it astrologically. I am keeping a
blog (unpublished as it is my personal world with my son who somewhere is
virtually continuing his life). For example NEW SITE = JULY 2014 - http://neuage.us/2014/July/ - Today would have been a good day
for Leigh to pitch. He has transit Mars conjunct his ascendant giving his fast
ball an hittable spin and transit Saturn is trine his Uranus which will pay off
for his incredible work ethic (Saturn was on his Mercury and Venus when he was
too depressed to go forward and saw no hope for his future love-life in August
2003. I had Saturn on my Mercury for the past couple of months and I know how
bad that can be – luckily it only happens once every 28 years, in a few months
it will be on my Venus then I get hit with the old Saturn return: and with my
Saturn conjunct Pluto exactly to the minute and conjunct my Sun and square my
Jupiter it will be interesting to see how I deal with it – I see it as a
challenge). I watch his chart and I know that if had continued he would be very
successful now, at the age of 22. He would be in the majors giving LA Dodgers a
win.
This
afternoon we are off to watch two of Narda’s sons play in their Class A footy game. They need to win NEW SITE = JULY 2014 - http://neuage.us/2014/July/ - Today to get into the finals.
They play for Birdwood and NEW SITE = JULY 2014 - http://neuage.us/2014/July/ - Today’s game is against Kersbrook here in Macclesfield.
We first went to Narda’s sister hosur for her
birthday. What a different life I had in Australia: single parent, living in
poverty, no friends. Helener had some fourteen or so
adults and several children at her birthday – outside of never having a birthday
party myself in my mere fifty-eight years I don’t even
know fourteen people. To have spent the majority of my life without a family makes
this all quite different.
I spent ten
years watching Leigh on Sunday’s playing for Southern Districts Baseball and
for the past several weekends, I suppose they are son-in-laws, I have watched
Narda’s sons play their footy matches. I was never an Australian Rules football
fan, though I like American Gridiron as they call it here. Aussie footy is much
rougher than the American counterpart and without all the protection gear the
Yanks wear. They have played some good games, the Birdwood A side. They are in
second place but NEW SITE = JULY 2014 - http://neuage.us/2014/July/ - Today, in the third quarter the game is tied with both having
nine goals (worth six points) and ten (equal one point) or a sum total of 64 to
64. Birdwood needs to win to continue there final’s hopes as this are the first
playoff with the loser being out for the rest of the season. The fact that they
are in second and Kerswood in sixth (the top of the
final elimination group) doesn’t matter. Narda’s son, Chris is the leading goal
kicker for Birdwood and he has just kicked another one through to put Birdwood
up by a goal.
NEW SITE = JULY 2014 - http://neuage.us/2014/July/ - Today working on picture poem links starting around "better" (19 September 2014). Picture poems are the digital format of work I did as a street artist in New Orleans in the 1970s, as well as New York City, Honolulu, San Francisco and Adelaide South Australia. Follow @neuage
