When I whispered to the trees along the boulevard

When I whispered
to the trees
along the boulevard
outside the cafes
yesterday evening
about the night before
with you
They embarrassed me
by whistling back
loudly
and out of tune
in front of the patrons
drinking cappuccino
along the boulevard
in the rain.

When I whispered
to the trees
along the boulevard
outside the cafes
yesterday evening
about the night before
with you
They embarrassed me
by whistling back
loudly
and out of tune
in front of the patrons
drinking cappuccino
along the boulevard
in the rain.
