WEEKLY ROMANTIC POEM FOR Tuesday, 21 November 2000 NEXT/PREVIOUS/ALL HOME

playing by the sea
skipping rope in the sand
telling secrets to seagulls
who never had heard whisper
We were children playing by the sea
Never knew that I would get caught
in the skip rope
and you would be carried away
by the seagulls

3. Where my kisses meet
my dreams
4. Pick a dream and stay
awake in it
|
Patterns
on my skin
where
you held so tight
Circles
in my heart
you
are always around
In-prints
in the sand
where
we whispered
sighs
in the surf
tears
shadowing our midst
kissing
twilight
in
the mist
Like
patterns on my skin
tattoos
on my mind
sapphires
in our sweat
You
are always here
when
I dream
when
I stare
when
I remember
Kisses
floating in the breeze
I
know they are yours
by
the scent
by
the taste
by
the touch
Patterns
in our life
created
and sustained
That
we are
NOW
that we are one.

I saw her laughing
standing at the bus stop
I asked her for a date
she laughed
We went to a rave
she laughed
We went to her cabin at the freeway's end
she laughed
She laughed as we drank wine
as we made love
as she slept
when she awoke in the morning
during our shower
at breakfast
and when I left her at the bus stop
where I first picked her up
Now everyday I drive by
drive-by-love
she's always at the bus stop laughing
in the snow ~ cold ~ rain ~ hail ~ smear
Because I take life so seriously
(I have Saturn and Pluto [both at 13.05 Leo] conjunct my Venus,
Sun and MH in Leo in a Capricorn house)
I've never stopped to see her again
But I still hear her
especially on stormy nights laughing
and though it scares me so
someday too I will laugh like her
She no loner has the body at the bus stop
Her laughter every full moon
tries so desperately to enter me
But as long as I refuse to laugh
I will never become possessed by her.
September 4th 1994 Victor Harbor South Australia
We can't go back she whispered
as we jumped on to the last shuttle
I remember her reaching through the haze
the voice without a body
a laughing shadow
She awoke an old unfilled desire
as I realized it was her
from my dreams
pregnant - from having me last night
How could that be?
(me! a rapped male?)
I had woken in terror - my seed
so forcefully pulled from me
(just another unreported alien abduction?)
then she yanked it from her glowing-metallic belly
said it was my off-spring
I leapt from the shuttle
her laughter curdled the foreign air
as I gasped for the remaining air
Tomorrow I must find a way to tell this truth
the details so quickly fade
But to sleep again I never can
so excuse the way I appear
I'm eternally wide awake
I don't care to understand
Just say I'm a man
they will know what to think
and where to place me
in experience's final resting place.
