Senior Olympics 2002
The purpose of the
Oklahoma Senior Olympics is to encourage physical wellness for men
and women age 50 and older by providing sports opportunities
conducted in an enjoyable social environment throughout Oklahoma.
Fifteen years ago, a vision took shape. Oklahoma Senior
Olympics was created. OSO started in 1987 with 88 athletes
participating and has grown to having over 1000 participants
competing in 23 events. Although many of these participants are from
Oklahoma, a growing number are joining in from as far away as New
York and California.
Saturday September 21, 2002 Field and Track events were
held at East Central High School, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Events
included the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400
meter dash, 800 meter dash, 1500 meter dash, high jump, long jump,
javelin, polevault pole vault, shotput, and the discus throw. See
